The 2020 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, loamy soil, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a deep, layered core of fruit that’s framed by powdery tannins and lively acids, it’s a touch more muscular than the 2019 rendition.
